The Science

Every ingredient, and why it’s there.

No proprietary blends, no pixie-dusted doses. Below is every active ingredient in REZE Daybreak and REZE Nightfall, at the exact dose in the box, with the mechanism and evidence behind each one.

REZE Daybreak

Five actives, one clean-energy stack.

Built around paraxanthine — caffeine’s own active metabolite — instead of caffeine itself, so mornings run on a steadier signal with no jitter-crash cycle.

Paraxanthine (enfinity®)

150 mg

Caffeine's primary active metabolite, delivered directly. Blocks adenosine receptors for alertness and modulates PDE9/cGMP signaling — without the metabolic variability that makes caffeine hit some people harder than others. A 2024 clinical comparison (Yoo et al.) found no added cognitive benefit from combining paraxanthine with caffeine. Evidence: moderate-to-strong and growing. Onset: 20–40 minutes.*

Citicoline (Cognizin®)

250 mg

Supplies choline for acetylcholine production, cytidine for cell-membrane repair, and supports frontal-lobe cellular energy (ATP). One of the more thoroughly studied nootropic compounds. Evidence: strong. Onset: 45–60 minutes.*

L-Theanine (Suntheanine®)

200 mg

Promotes alpha-wave brain activity and reduces glutamatergic over-excitation — the mechanism behind a calm, focused-without-jittery feel. Evidence: strong. Onset: 30–45 minutes.*

L-Tyrosine

750 mg

A direct precursor your body converts into dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine. Evidence is strongest for performance under stress or cognitive load — moderate-to-strong. Onset: 30–60 minutes.*

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin)

250 mcg

The active, body-ready form of B12 — a required cofactor for the methylation cycle and neurotransmitter synthesis. Evidence: moderate, cofactor-level — it supports the pathways the other actives rely on rather than acting on its own.*

REZE Nightfall

Eleven actives, one wind-down system.

A melatonin-free formula that works upstream — lowering physical tension, quieting mental chatter, and supporting sleep onset itself, rather than replacing a hormone your body already makes.

Magnesium Glycinate

300 mg elemental (from 2,500 mg)

A fully-reacted chelate — magnesium bound to glycine — which is both the gentlest form on digestion and the best absorbed. Reaching 300mg of elemental magnesium takes 2,500mg of raw chelate, and the non-magnesium portion of that is glycine: roughly 2,000mg of it, which is why the glycine total below lands where it does. Magnesium is well-established for supporting muscle and nervous-system relaxation, and correcting a deficiency is one of the more consistently reproducible findings in sleep-adjacent research.*

Glycine

1,500 mg standalone (~3,500 mg total)

An inhibitory amino acid that lowers core body temperature slightly — one of the physiological signals that initiates sleep. Two frequently cited trials (Yamadera et al. 2007; Bannai & Kawai 2012) dosed 3,000mg before bed and found glycine improved subjective sleep quality and next-day alertness without sedative side effects. Standalone glycine alone would fall short of that; combined with the glycine carried in the magnesium chelate, Nightfall clears it.*

L-Theanine (Suntheanine®)

100 mg

The same alpha-wave-promoting amino acid used in Daybreak — here it takes the edge off a racing mind at bedtime instead of sharpening focus in the morning. Daybreak carries the larger 200mg dose; at night it works alongside ten other actives rather than carrying the effect alone.*

Magnolia officinalis Extract

250 mg

The source of honokiol and magnolol, its two most-studied compounds. Used for centuries in traditional practice for evening calm; modern research is still emerging but growing.*

Saffron Extract (10:1)

10 mg

A 10:1 concentrate — ten parts raw saffron reduced to one. Saffron has been looked at for mood and evening relaxation in several small trials, though those used branded standardized extracts at higher doses; treat this as a supporting note in the formula rather than a lead active.*

Lemon Balm Extract

300 mg

A member of the mint family, traditionally used to calm a racing mind. Like magnolia and saffron, the clinical evidence base is still building.*

Ziziphus jujuba Seed Extract

400 mg

Suanzaoren — sour jujube seed. One of the longest track records of traditional use in this formula, spanning centuries of documented practice for restful sleep, alongside more limited modern research.*

Sour Cherry Extract

500 mg

A whole-fruit extract that naturally contains small amounts of sleep-supportive compounds, alongside anthocyanins studied for recovery support.*

Chamomile Extract

200 mg

The reason chamomile tea has been a bedtime ritual for generations, and a natural source of apigenin.*

Apigenin

30 mg

Chamomile's calming flavonoid, isolated and added on top of the whole extract — concentrated well beyond what a cup of tea provides.*

Vitamin B6

2 mg

A cofactor your body uses to synthesise the neurotransmitters involved in winding down. Supporting, not headline.*
